so, this is real

After another mid-day siesta, we wandered around the markets & random stores while trying to cross more things off our to-do list. Alessio told us that most stores here only have sales in January, so it's all too tempting to look in every one. Funny how we always seem to end up in Zara & H&M, but hey, shopping in Italy is shopping in Italy. The phone situation is proving to be more confusing than planned, but hopefully we'll get it all straightened out tomorrow.

We also got our class schedules today, & all of us are in the same classes! Except for Alyssa who will be speaking fluent Italian. Because she's a principessa.

Monday
Italian Language, 12:30-2:30
History of Italian Renaissance Art, 3:00-6:00
Tuesday
Photographing Florence, 9:15-12:15
Italian Language, 12:30-2:30
History of Tuscany, 3:00-6:00
Wednesday
Italian Language, 12:30-2:30
History of 20th Century Fashion, 3:00-6:00
Thursday
Italian Language, 12:30-2:30

We got really lucky in that we start late on Mondays & are done early on Thursdays so that we can hopefully catch some cheaper flights or trains in/out on those days. Speaking of, the fact that we are almost booked for both Carnivale in Venice & SpringFest in Munich is pretty crazy. Just casually leaving our home in Florence to go to Germany, no big deal.

Tomorrow we have to go into the Accademia to finish turning in documents for our Permit to Stay, then will hopefully finish the rest of our list. At 5, we will be taking a bus to an estate in the Tuscan countryside! It is the end of our orientation, & probably sure to be our favorite part. On the schedule is relaxing chats about culture, breakfast/dinner with fresh seasonal ingredients, wine appreciation, & tours of the wine cellars & estate. Looking forward to those photo opps! Rough life. Be back on Saturday!
